FBISD Announces 2026 District Teachers of the Year

Fort Bend ISD’s 2026 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year are Sullivan Elementary Special Education teacher Fawzia Elsaadi and Sugar Land Middle School Theatre Arts teacher Shenoa Cramer.

They were announced at the district’s annual Teacher of the Year banquet on April 23.

Fine Arts Without Limits

The Fort Bend Independent School District Fine Arts Department continues to set the standard for excellence through nationally recognized programs in music, theatre, dance, visual arts, and UIL academic performance. During the 2025–26 school year, FBISD students and campuses earned top honors at regional, state, and national competitions, including UIL State appearances, Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) recognitions, Visual Scholastic Event medals, and superior ratings across band, choir, orchestra, and theatre programs.

FBISD students consistently earned placements in All-State ensembles, advanced through prestigious competitive showcases, and received scholarships and honors for artistic achievement. From award-winning marching bands and championship dance teams to nationally recognized visual artists and theatre productions, FBISD Fine Arts programs provide students with opportunities to develop creativity, confidence, collaboration, and leadership both on and off the stage.

Through innovative instruction and a commitment to artistic excellence, FBISD Fine Arts empowers students to discover their passions, express their talents, and perform at the highest levels.

From Classrooms to Competition: FBISD Leveled Up in 2025-2026

The Fort Bend Independent School District continued to demonstrate strong academic performance and student achievement during the 2025–26 school year, with students outperforming state and regional averages across core academic subjects and earning recognition at the state and national levels. District students continued to excel in college readiness measures, including AP, SAT, ACT, and National Merit programs, with dozens of students earning prestigious National Merit Scholarships. FBISD also maintained strong performance on national benchmark assessments, with students scoring above national averages in many key academic indicators.

The district’s commitment to innovative learning opportunities remained evident through expanded Career and Technical Education pathways, specialized academic programs, dual language opportunities, and college and career readiness initiatives designed to prepare students for success beyond graduation. As one of the most diverse school districts in the nation, FBISD continued to provide inclusive, high-quality educational experiences that support the academic growth and future aspirations of all learners.
